This is the bulk of the work.
This can include, but is not limited to:
EQ, Compression, Parallel Compression, Limiting, Normalization, Saturation, Automation, Delay, Reverb, Creating Busses and Sends, Balancing Levels, Making Shit Sound Excellent, Etc.
The mastering process is absolutely crucial to "my sound", and it's included in the price of mixing. I've never added an additional charge for mastering, as I tend to make the mixing process "all inclusive."
Mastering seems to be the elusive dark art that no one understands.
Here's the most simple explanation I could find:"Mastering is the final step of audio post-production.
The purpose of mastering is to balance sonic elements of a stereo mix and optimize playback across all systems and media formats. Traditionally, mastering is done using tools like equalization, compression, limiting and stereo enhancement. There are several considerations in this process: unifying the sound of a record, maintaining consistency across an album, and preparing for distribution."
I can give you input and feedback on technical questions about mix prep, best practices for engineering and editing your songs, microphone/preamp choices, or anything else that can impact the result of the final product.
The better the source audio, the better the final product will be.
I'll be here to help wherever I can to make sure everything is the highest quality possible before you send it to me.
This is the definition of a win/win outcome.I want to do whatever I can to make sure the final product is excellent.
Included for free are 3 rounds of revisions. Because I set aside time on my calendar to do revisions, you can take as much time as needed to gather each batch of revisions without needing to stick to a specific schedule.
My goal is to make this a smooth and simple a process for you.
The revision process typically goes like this:
1 | Dawsøn sends the "Full Mix."
2 | You spend a week (or so) gathering a lengthy list of minor revisions ("turn up the lead at xx:xx. Turn down the vocals at xx:xx" etc).
3 | Dawsøn adds the revision request to his to-do list and completes them during his next available revision calendar slot.
4 | Rinse and repeat for revision round 2 and 3.
By revision round 3, the 99% of artists have a mix they're ready to receive final masters for. If you're part of the 1% who need additional revisions, they can be completed for a flat hourly fee.
Note: Additional rounds of revisions are, obviously, always FREE
if they are needed to correct an error of our own making!Once the payment has been paid, we'll discuss a due date that works best for both of our schedules.
Keep in mind that I need a minimum of 5 business days for singles and 10-14 business days for projects more then 3 songs.
This allows me to give each project its own dedicated time slots and ensures for an efficient turn around time.
Sometime between sending us your payment and your first scheduled day of mixing, you'll need to send us your session files.
To ensure everything goes smoothly, be sure to connect us to your tracking engineer.
The entire project is usually completed within 2-4 weeks of the first scheduled date of mixing.
The largest contributing factor of total time is the revision process.
The faster you get the revisions to us, the quicker the entire process goes.Projects with more songs tend to take longer than smaller projects, however, the revision process is still the biggest factor of all.
If 7 days has gone by since your order, unfortunately we can’t offer you a refund or exchange.
To be eligible for refund, no work should have begun on project.
Types of product that are exempt from being returned include: Downloadable goods for example, such as mixing, beats, and completed sessions cannot be refunded.Once all revisions have been made. You'll receive final copy's of each song file(wav/mp3) via direct email.
